Winsome Genoa Occasional Table, Espresso

I ordered two of the Winsome wood round side tables which arrived in perfect condition. I assembled the first table in 45 minutes. I was so happy that the holes lined up and the screws went in straight that I did not first notice that I had reversed the direction of the legs while assembling the shelf part and now the shelves were upside down. I learned upon taking it apart that it was an easy mistake to correct without damage to the table. The second table went together in 30 minutes even though I was watching something about pigs on the BBC.The limited directions suggest helping hands but I did it all by myself. I found a stubby screwdriver, a small battery powered screwdriver, and a handle for the hex wrench immensely helpful. I also found the legs are locked to the shelf ONLY when the lock screw tightens in deeply AND the leg fits tight against the shelf. In addition, it helps to stabilize the assembly by attaching each leg to both shelves before moving to the adjacent leg. It is important, I learned, to ensure all the cam screws are really tight before attaching the table top or the hex screw holes do not line up. Additionally, if the wood plugs won't stick, a little bit of double sided tape on the business end keeps them in place.With that said, why did I give this product 5 stars? The assembly was fast, the tables sit firm and level, the pieces had a good finish, and they look just like the picture- nice.

I found this side table on Amazon, after seeing one with a different finish at a local store. They only carried it in the one finish, but had other Winsome Woods products in the Espresso finish, so I knew exactly what mine would look like: size & color. Because of free super saver shipping, I was able to get exactly what I wanted for less than my local store would've charged. I was looking at assembly from either.I wish the instructions were more than just pictures. After messing up one of the cam locks by tightening it with a screwdriver, I realized that the tool that came with the table could be used on the cams as well as the hex screws during assembly. Not thrilled with some of the gaps between leg and shelf, I took it apart and started over, adjusting the cam lock screws that fit into the shelves and are caught by the cams. Much happier the second time.All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

The table is of good quality, and it looks perfectly like it does in the photos. However the cam locks that attach the legs to the shelves are of poor quality. I had two break as I was putting the table together. I called the company and they sent a replacement package, it took a week to get to me. All the while my half assembled table is sitting in my living room. Upon receiving the replacement cam locks, two more broke (luckily they sent more than just two). Even with the replacement locks, the legs didnt fit perfectly where they were supposed to, and due to the cheap nature of the cam locks the legs did not lock tightly into position. I am going to have to figure something else out such as wood glueing the legs to the shelves so the table is sturdy.So while this table was exactly what I was looking for, and fits perfectly with my decor, its a shame the company uses cheap parts.

This table turned out to be perfect. The height is just right, the quality is excellent and putting it together was simple enough. I've seen comparable pieces priced much higher in local stores.Very pleased with the product, the delivery and the quality.

This table although I'm sure would of looked great in our living room, it was a b**ch to put together & the parts/holes/pieces didn't line up right. My hubby tried to put it together & it was just a mess. Nothing matched right! I just think it was poorly assembled & the company didn't line it up right when making it. I was dissapointed bc it would of added a nice touch to our living room. Sent it back the next day & bought something else. Maybe it was just the table we got, but it wasn't good. Sorry!

This table is the perfect addition to our movie room. Please be aware that the looks are much better than the quality.

I ordered these for night stands. My bed is too high for the modern height of night stands. This worked perfect, looks great, doesn't look or feel inexpensive and the perfect height.

I have some nice furniture, and if I put this table next to one of my more expensive tables, most people could differentiate between the two, however, it is a handsome enough table and a great deal for the price. It had to be assembled which is never fun, but it was easily done in about 20 minutes. I like that it has the glass insert because I don't have to worry about the kids damaging the table top as much as I'd have to otherwise. I am really happy with the quality of the table for the price. It's nice looking, but I won't cry when my kids and husband eventually destroy it and I don't feel the need to police the table constantly like I have to with some of the more expensive furniture in the house.

Not Easy to assemble, and very unsteady once built. Mine cracked pretty quickly without much trouble...

Top glass does not fit. I will have to bring to glass shop to make glass smaller to fit hole.
