Let There Be Light!
UPDATED Review: 6/27/2024After using these lights almost daily for about 10 months a year, I had an issue where some of the lights went out. It seemed to be a problem with the control adapter or lights. I contacted the maker looking for parts, and even though these were out of warranty, they send me a new kit (the connectors had all changed). You cannot beat that kind of customer service.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Original review:I had a set of four grow lights on gooseneck arms. I use them for lights on my Kitchenjoy indoor greenhouse. While adequate, they are on a tripod outside the greenhouse, and the wiring and constant repositioning was annoying and messy. When I ordered this set of six strips, I was looking for an interior solution. These worked out perfectly. What’s in the box?Six light strips, 16” long each.Control switch with Y connector.Full size AC adaptor.20 clips and screws.20 zip ties.2 rolls of double-sided tape.4 20” extension connections.I wanted to use the metal clips to mount the lights in the greenhouse. My issue was that requires 12 clips. Although the product is advertised having 20, mine came with 8, even though there were at least 20 screws. I contacted the manufacturer and they were a bit of a headache through email. They responded only at 2-3am (probably in China?) and kept asking for proof of my order, which I repeatedly provided. After 3 e-mail attempts it got worked out.The lights themselves are nice and bright, much brighter than my gooseneck ones, light for light. Each strip has 36 lights (18 white, 12 red, 6 blue). They switch from a 2:1 red/blue ratio (12/6 lights) to daylight (18 white lights) to full spectrum (all 36 lights). So, in total, all on it’s 216 lights.I installed four strips on the greenhouse roof, and one light underneath two of the shelves. I also put four extra clips on one shelf in case I later want to mount two lights on one shelf.Installation is pretty simple. Screw in metal clips, one screw per clip. The clips are small and screws are extremely tiny, so plan on dropping them a thousand times, even with a magnetic screwdriver. The connector cables built into each strip are just 6” on one side and 6” in the other so plan on using the extension connectors for any configuration other than lights all real close to one another. The Y connector cable coming off the switch is about 24” on each leg so that helps with flexibility for light placement. The controls and timer work well, and again these are good brightness so I actually use the dimmer sometimes.I’ve had them installed about a week and so far I love them.

Easy to install!
I need about 5 more of these! They are super easy to install, help with my plant growth/flowering with their multiple settings, the timer actually works! And they cover a large area with just a small light!

Timer Hack
Since I've only had these lights for a couple of days, I can't really make a full review. I'll try and give an update once I have had them for awhile. That being said, I can tell you why I chose them in the first place. I read the reviews, and this product had one of the best percentage of positive reviews, so I took a closer look. I liked the fact that I could choose a different mixture of lights, depending on what I needed. The only drawback that I could see was that the timer maxes out at 12 hours on and 12 hours off, while I want 16 hours on and 8 hours off.The area I need to light requires two set of lights. I have one set with the warm light turn on at 8:00 a.m. The second set, with just the red and blue lights, turns on at 12:00 p.m. Both sets are set to 12 hours, giving an overlap of 8 hours. At 8:00 p.m. the warm lights turn off, leaving just the red and blue lights, and these turn off at midnight. This gives me a total time of 16 hours and a lighting mixture to cover both photosynthesis and flower and fruit germination. I'll be moving the rest of the plants into the new area in the next couple of days. I'll try and give an update soon.

It’s not bright enough.!
Update, December 8,2024:To be honest, I’m very disappointed with this light. I feel like it’s not bright enough. $35 that’s not really worth it. I thought it would be brighter as an orchid owner for two years already and generally, I thought it was gonna be brighter. I don’t know. I have to look somewhere else. If you’re buying this for your orchids, look somewhere else. Make sure the lumens are bright. It’s not value for your money very disappointed.Update October 27, 2024:Well, what a disappointment. I thought this light was going to last a while and guess what two lights has gone out. I checked in the back. Everything is connected and tight. No wonder my plant has not been getting sufficient light.😡————————————————————————(Start)Update February 4: it’s been a month I believe when I bought it. And decision is over. I like it and I don’t like it. I like it because it comes three different functions and you can put a timer that’s it. I’m kind of disappointed because it’s not bright enough. I have to buy two more lights to make it brighter for the orchids. I contacted the manufacturer who owns this product and they told me they don’t sell it individually so I had to go to Plan B to purchase a different product with the one that you clip on the pots make it a little bit more brighter. If you’re considering to buy one, I fail that you should buy the ones the clips in the pot I’m not very happy. It should’ve been more brighter, and that one the clips in the pot it gives more light one and these are two that you put on the side is not even bright enough disappointed for $44. I could’ve got a little bit more brighter. February 4 (end)I bought this greenhouse, and I decided to add some light to it. Very nice. Came with extra sticky strips to attach to the light. If you’re trying to get it off good luck anyways trying to add some zip ties to the light so it can grip other than that pretty nice. I love it.Wish it could be a little brighter, but other than that pretty nice!😀
