Excellent value for the money
These Winsome furniture pieces are excellent value for the money--you're paying the same price as an Ik*a piece, but you're getting something made of real wood. Yes, as some reviewers have mentioned, the wood may occasionally have knots or other irregularities, but that's natural in real wood. It was relatively easy to assemble: the legs need to be attached (by 2 screw bolts apiece) into the top, four dowels need to be pushed into the lower part of the legs in order to hold the bottom shelf, and the drawer knob needs to be held on by a screw. I would say it took me about 35 minutes to assemble using the small pitiful wrench provided; if I owned a better wrench, I probably could have done the job in 15 minutes.TWO TIPS:(1) The four legs are NOT interchangeable: each leg must be attached so that its dowel holes face toward the long dimension (23") of the furniture, in order to properly support the printer shelf. I laboriously screwed in 2 of the legs before I realized that. I would suggest that you insert the dowels before you attach the legs, so that you can easily visualize which leg needs to be attached at each corner of the table.(2) It isn't easy to screw in the legs if the furniture is being assembled while inverted on the floor; I placed the inverted table on top of my(properly protected) dining room table, and thus was able to screw in the legs without bending over.I should say that I also bought the Winsome Wood Computer desk, and these 2 pieces of furniture are very practical, give a large surface area for doing work, and make a nice matched set at a very reasonable price. I've only had the 2 items for a month or so, and can't comment on their long-term sturdiness, but based on their overall construction I'm sure they'll give good value for the money. Hey, if you want something that can be passed down to your great-grandchildren, maybe buy something for 5x the price from P*t*ry B*rn, but for the price, this is a good piece of REAL WOOD furniture (from Thailand). And contrary to some of the other reviewers, I had no problem with damage from 'poor packing'; both pieces of furniture arrived without any shipping damage.

Sturdy, functional, and solid.
Sturdy, functional, and solid. Matches other Winsome studio office furniture with honey finish. I now have five pieces of this series of furniture, and have been very happy with them. They are not fine furniture, but have some nice design features like slightly tapered legs and beveled edges to the tops. Sort of mid-century school library with a style that will not look out of place in many homes. Winsome also has an arts and crafts style series of furniture that I like, but they weren't the best fit for my current location. This table and other pieces in this series are nicely finished. The honey finish is just right for my taste - not too dark, but also doesn't look like unfinished wood. The finish is fine on the exposed sides of the furniture, although a little less satiny on unexposed surfaces. The construction is almost all solid wood. Rather than large boards, some have been boards have been joined from smaller boards - but still solid. The drawer bottoms are not wood - probably for the best. On this piece, the drawer runs on a wooden guide, a little sticky, but similar to some vintage furniture that I own. The drawer is smallish, but useful, for example, for small ink cartridges, extra cables, and a box of paperclips (have the Winsome drawer/file cabinet for bigger items). Was very easy to assemble - I like that it uses real screws and bolts. All in all, a nice appearance, sturdy, functional, and a great value for money.

Maybe I just got lucky, but this is a great item
Count me among the happy customers. My printer stand arrived in great shape, went together easily with straight lines and all correct holes and parts, and looks great with the matching computer desk. The two items are put together nearly the same way, making the second one even easier to assemble. Just use the picture to pay attention to which legs go where. Also, when you're putting on each leg, the last few turns of the (included) wrench can hurt your hand. I used the wrench from the table assembly and some pliers to buffer my hand from the wrench handle's thin edge, or you could use your own small wrench. You'll need a smallish Phillips head screwdriver for the drawer knob. It's true that the shelf does not have a lip, and the wood in the center of the shelf is rougher than the rest, with some raggedy edges where it meets the shelf frame. I could sand it down a little, but I don't expect to be running my fingers over that seam very often. The drawer of the printer stand is the right size for standard 8 1/2" x 11" copy paper, and you could probably fit a ream of paper in there. When the stars align as they did in my case, this product is great-looking, well-made, affordable, and user-friendly. It's possible the company has gotten its act together, or maybe they have multiple sources of their products. If you're interested in this product, it's worth a try. However, unless you're in a hurry, maybe keep an eye on the price. I bought mine about ten days ago for $75 and the price has since jumped by about $12; perhaps it will go back down.
