Overall this is just a fantastic toy. My daughter has absolutely loved using this and it gives her the ability to make any scene that she wants. So it encourages imagination, drawing skills, and coloring skills. Overall this product keeps your occupied for quite a long time and is able to make her focused. Just a great product would easily buy again.

I grew tired of my granddaughter tracing pictures on top of the computer screen. I saw the Crayola Light Up Tracing Pad while searching for craft items, and I had not heard of it before but thought the concept was a good idea. I could not have found a more perfect gift for her, and it has been in continuous use ever since she received it. The pad is used by all the younger children, our teenage artist, and I have used it myself for fabric patterns.I am impressed that after a year it is still working on the original batteries (3 AA batteries) despite not always being immediately turned off after use. This pad comes with a full set (12) of good quality Crayola colored pencils, a graphite pencil, 10 blank sheets of paper and 10 pieces of tracing paper, plus tracing sheets with designs and stickers. You can download additional designs, but my child enjoys tracing figures from coloring books, illustrations from her story books, etc. The paper "locks in" so it cannot slide around. The light emitted is quite bright, and expensive tracing paper is really not needed - we have used plain copy paper after the tracing paper that came with the pad was used up, and it works so well there was no need to use anything else. Ok, so I think this thing is pretty cool for the price -- a backlight tracing mini desk is undeniably cute, cool and handy.BUUUUUT, why are the underlays paper -- could they not have sprung for the plastic ones we used to have on those overhead projectors 40 years ago? Those would have ben way more durable and functional. These paper ones are going to get crushed, lost or drawn on in about 3 weeks.ALSO, maybe my spatial intelligence is not what it used to be, BUUUUT (2), if you want to add wings to your horse or even some of the other elements, you have to finagle both sheets a lot. Either you have to start with your horse in a lower position so the wings fit, or you have to be ok with cut off wings, or wings coming out of stomachs. Just seems non intuitiveEither way, bot the underlay and the drawing paper have to be moved around outside of the frame. Which kinda defeats the whole purpose of having this thing sit in a kids lap, in terms of stability.Some sort of light clip mechanism would have been smart.
